When I'm away I only take the phone out of my pocket if I break down...My phone only works as a phone and it's not 'smart'..On that basis the batteries last a while...
When I come to a roadside stop I look at the scenery and the people if there are any....
I don't want to know the time in Trinidad, who won this weeks X Factor or learn how to play the piano...
The only 'smart' thing I own is the tool I made for refitting the M20 clutch spring....and that's not all that smart...
I'm not on Facebook, don't Blog, don't Twitter and don't text...and I don't know what blue tooth, blue ray or apps are...and I don't want to...I don't want to be connected '24/7' either...
I only know the bare minimum about my computer and aren't really keen to learn more....I'd rather know more about engines etc..
In fact now I think about it I can safely say I'm either a technophobe or retarded ...Ian
But how do you charge your smart toothbrush then, Ian? Or check news from this forum at roadside stop?
Kalle and Ian.. The idea is to use for airbed inflater and yes phone charging.. I will also be at BSAOC events for over a week and my phone doesn't have a good battery life due to the multitude of apps available..
Dunno if this is any use but it convers 6V to 5V and powers my Satnav on the M20 no problem. I guess you could connect the output to a USB connector, or anything you want.
The parts cost about 2 quid all together and you can choose + or - earth.
Quick trip to Maplins and the opportunity to aquire a few soldering burns while waiting for the turkey to carbonise. Merry Xmas!
I do need a USB charger every now and then. But I use a small portable charger which will fully charge an iPad or 3x charges of an I phone. About the size of a packet of polo's and recharge it when you run out easily from any other usb outlet.
I am all for modern life and if it suits you better to have on-bike, go for it. It will always be a talking point !
