Second gear on the layshaft should have holes in it, and the bush, while 3rd gear on the mainshaft does not. Is this correct?
Just opened a couple of boxes and found this reversed in one, and neither gear drilled in the other.
I presume there is a good reason for this difference, anyone know what it is? Is there more stress on 2nd gear or does less oil get to the layshaft?

The mainshaft gear has the holes and the layshaft gear doesn't...
From the kickstart end the layshaft is hollow and drilled through where the gear runs...and the bush is lubricated this way..
The mainshaft doesn't have this oiling hole so there are three (smaller) holes through the gear instead...Ian
