Odd items on ebay

Hi there, anybody got any idea what on earth these items are for on ebay??

If it is "Snow grips",
I guess it was to be tied on the tire and rim in intervals,
Kind of snow chins?..

Well I can't see how they could possibly fit, They're huge with long lengths of canvas!

Maybe they are for the large rims and tyres on a WLA Harley... ...Ian

They look to have nylon webbing and the design doesn't look 'WW2' at all. I can't imagine what it would be like riding a motorcycle with those strapped around the tyre...a bit like Mary's little bike when she rode it on the grass...
