DVLA

Bloody DVLA are driving me round the twist, trying to register my M20 for the first time, I have sent them all the relevant details including the dating certificate from the BSA OC. They send my first application back because I failed to sign it (my mistake) now they have sent it back again saying the dating evidence I have provided is not acceptable and must contain the date/year vehicle was manufactured and explain the source of information linked to the particular vehicle.
If this is the case, then why the bloody hell didn't they say anything about it when they send the documents back the first time for my signature.

Bloody W**kers.

Re: DVLA

Don't forget to write your name and address on the back of the cheque or postal order and staple it to the form, they have a habit of mis laying them if they aren't!!!

Re: DVLA

I'm about to try and regain an original number and have the original buff logbook. Do I need to send this with my application? JT

Re: DVLA

John, If you have youre old log book and they need to see it in order to get your old number back I personally wouldn't let it out of my sight.Mick.

Re: DVLA

I'm building an M20 to have a go at the semi official 'British single cylinder sidevalve record' and the unofficial 'fastest M20 recorded'...

I've been fiddling with it on and off for a number of years but now it's at the top of my list of projects so making progress...Ian

Re: DVLA

Ian.

Do you still have any handlebars for the M20s? I have tried to e-mail you about this. In need of a pair.

Re: DVLA

Hello sorry to hear of your grief. I to had problem’s with them I have a 1940 wm20
Which was registered in N Ireland which is ok l, part of British isles also I had the original tax disk 1998 every time, I phone them up I got a different answer they said we have no record of that number ( Did a NI HPI check it came up on that Ok ) they just said send us all your info and we will have a look but indicated they may not be able to register the bike at all O NO !!!!!,
So I gave up I. I spoke to John OB and he advise just go for a age related plate which came in about 14 days.
I think they have lost a lot of the old NI numbers when closing the regional offices I also believe they are a bit shirty about giving the old numbers in case you may decide to sell it !!!!

Regards Duncan.
