Very Nice and a great cover illustration....I hope he's not planning going anywhere at night on the Norton though....That would be a 'Boys Own' adventure without lights.... ...Ian

Brilliant, Rob ! Do you think that the photos of the Southern Command outfits with the Motley Bren date from the same period as the 'Defence and Defiance' advert ? That was published in April 1941.

I see that they were at Redhill after they were bombed out of London. I wonder if a photo archive survives ?

The picture bottom right shows the centre stand being used as a plough.
