Hi Rik, i have no idea what was is bought for.....i wanted the funnel...i am actually desperate for one and was willing to pay a 100 pounds for it but the rest is ordinary stuff you find everywhere. i do hope that whoever paid that money had the same target as myself because otherwise there's nothing worth that money there.
Clive, are they that rare ? Specifically that type or anything wartime dated ?
There is nothing to stop you writing to the seller and asking him to pass your message on to the buyer.
As you say, the rest is nothing special. The tool roll is not wartime dated and the rest add up to about fifteen pounds worth.
People pay silly money for 'complete', even if inaccurate, toolkits in a canvas roll. It's a puzzle as it's much more interesting to collect them piece by piece.
Indeed Rik, complete tool kits are non existent, especially on eBay. unfortunately the seller wasn't very helpful. i guess they are very rare for some strange reason. i have a NOS dating from 1956 but have never seen a wartime dated one and still haven't. i asked the seller for a picture but wasn't helpful. have to keep on searching...
