Re: Website picture

So did all the Dutch contracts have the extra lug on the frame below the foot brake lever pivot for the little side stand and the panel tank?

Would the undelivered bikes which ended up with the British War Office have gone back to the BSA factory for these bits to be removed and a non panel tank and short long field stand to be fitted?

Re: Website picture

And did they have the finned rear hub..?.and was this built by the same chap that has the G14?...Ian

Re: Website picture

Hello Ian,

Yes it is the same chap..
This bike is a KM20 representing an impressed bike by the dutch with all the fittings that go along with this. Since there are so few dutch military bikes on the road I decided to do this. Still looking for the rear seat and fixing some minor details.

The G14 is still work in progress, the main challenge is the sidecar and more specific the bend leaf springs. This will be the next project. In the end it will be nice to see them together.

Re: Website picture

I am more interested in those pannier cases.

did he make them?

Re: Website picture

Why has it got an electric AND a bulb horn??

Re: Website picture

Both very nice bikes Jacques...and unusual. A credit to your rebuilding skills...Ian

Re: Website picture

Thank you Ian!

The Dutch added some extra parts on the motorcycles like:

- Extra bulbhorn
- Reflector front and rear
- rearseat, brand Gefrag
- label inside headlight
- Brass plate on toolbox
- mirror
And used the Dutch colour, olive green. Much simular to the helmet colour.

The text on the tank is the dutch flag with the military Numbers, the numbers plates are repainted civilian plates.

Re: Website picture

Very nice Jacques! (wouldn't mind one of these when I'm ready for an M20/21)

Does it need crash bars and hand gear change too??

Cheers,

Lex

ps, can you email me some pictures direct Jacques?

Re: Website picture

I have pannier cases fitted to my own WM20 with a home made rack cost me a fiver for the panniers from a autojumble and a hours work to make rack.I like the look of these panniers much neater than a couple of bags soaking up the weather .Dave

Re: Website picture

Dave, I think "neat" was hardly an issue in a time of war...

Re: Website picture

Regarding the new web picture! Leave it exactly as it is! It's all part of the bikes history and has nice patina. Ron

PS. Is that the Sahara Desert?

Re: Website picture

Typical of an ex Middle East/India/Pakistan etc. bike...

Best avoided in my opinion but if you must you can get one from a number of rip off British dealers for about £3500... ...Ian

Re: Website picture

That blue bike on the website is found by Cymon in a shed in a village near near Mbale Uganda, close to Mt Elgon and the Kenyan border. It was first registered in 1957 in Uganda and not much is known about the bike. Cymon has plans to restore it to it's former glory. It has a few extra's fitted but all in all it's still pretty complete.
