Had this one for a while and was about to list it on Ebay but I'm wondering what size bars its for, it's too small to fit 1 inch original Norton bars and way too big to fit 7/8 BSA bars???
I seem to remember reading that there was a WD bike with necked down inch bars at one or both ends, what size would that be?
Any thoughts welcome.

I know Triumph used swaged down bars after the war and the throttle for them was 15/16" diameter...It sounds like your throttle is that size..
I guess that makes Triumph a candidate...It also looks like the Triumph pattern throttle drum which was a Triumph only part post war...
Somebody else may have more concise information hopefully about the pre war and wartime period....Ian

Ian is right that Triumph used their own unique twist grips at 15/16" on civvy bikes, in use well before the war. But as far as I know for WD bikes they used standard size 1" and late war 7/8" bars. I've never seen one of these throttles in 15/16". I have an identical twist grip on my 16H which is 1". Ron

It's a strange one indeed Rob. Below is the unique Triumph 15/16 twist grip. I have checked in my WD parts lists and apart from the last three contracts of 3HW which had standard 7/8 bars, all the rest had 1" bars with a normal twist grip with 2 screws. I just can't imagine what your grip was made for Ron
