Pick it apart

Good day.

I am turning to the forum for a second set of eyes on my recently acquired motorcycle. My goal is to return the BSA back to the 1944 version of itself rather than its current incarnation. To do that, I know it is going to need several additional pieces. Some of the pieces, like a front fender, have been identified while my inexperienced eye is likely missing others.

The photos of the motorcycle are posted here:
https://www.dropshots.com/justininia/photo

If you see something not right, post away. This motorcycle is going to be stripped down for repair and restoration and I would like to be as accurate as possible putting it back together.

Thanks for all the help and advice.

Re: Pick it apart

Hi Justin...You're going to need quite a few parts to get this one right...E mail me a clear photo of each side of the bike and I'll go through it as best I can....

Have you confirmed the date of manufacture from the frame number?...You'll need to do that if you haven't already to be sure you are looking for the correct parts....Ian

Re: Pick it apart

Hi Justin,

I am not one of the biggest experts here, for sure,

But you would need, at least:

Rear mudguard and stay kit, the licence plate holder assembly, rear light,
Front mudguard and stay kit, Headlight assy (Ammeter, switch)
Saddle, silencer, handlebars, correct carb, chainguards, battery case, horn.

Of course, you can add pillion seat, panniers and racks,
And more, depend how far you would like to go...

Good luck !

Re: Pick it apart

By the way,
A "trick" to blow any thing on your screen (Microsoft Windows users)

On the screen you want to blow/enlarge,
Hold down the "Ctrl" key, and while it is pressed,
Use the MOUSE wheel to enlarge the screen:
Roll it FW to enlarge, and back, in order to shrink.

At the end, you can press "Ctrl" + "0" (Zero) together,
In order to go back to the default screen size.

Re: Pick it apart

Hi Justin...The carb presently fitted is an Amal Concentric...Used on much later machines than the WDM20....

That used the 'separate float chamber' Amal 276 type ...
