Rear brake anchor

Where should this part 15-5816 be attached to the brake: on the outside, but then the bolt head interferes with the rear stand:

or the inside? But then the lower chainguard is a bit eccentric

Re: Rear brake anchor

Hi Hans,I think you need to turn the stand round, those slots face inside towards the frame.

Re: Rear brake anchor

Hi Hans, sorry about that, the slots are on both sides,so that isn't the answer.I just went out and got one from the garage to check

Re: Rear brake anchor

Hi Hans
On my Enfield some of the nuts are half the normal width to prevent fouling the stand and other bits around the rear wheel.
Just a thought - No doubt one of the M20 experts will let you have an answer.

Re: Rear brake anchor

Hi Hans,

I'm sure that Paul is right I bought a brake anchor bolt and nut from Russell's last year. The one that they sent me has a thin type head, approx 1/4 inch, with the thread length 1 inch. The bolt has a hole for a split pin and the nut is a castlellated. Hope this helped?

Re: Rear brake anchor

Hans my anchor has always been inboard of the brake plate. If your chain guard is twisted then something is wrong Ron
