What grade of steel rod is best to use for engine mount studs/bolts if you make your own.

I use 316 Stainless as much for it's high corrosion resistance as for its strength (which is more than adequate)...

EN8 or an equivalent grade medium carbon mild steel would be a suitable non stainless alternative...Ian
