I have a copy late pattern tail light. Has 2 wires coming out of the back, red and green.
bulb has 2 contact points and a single filament. No earth wire evident.
Do I have a rear/stop light? Or is it just a tail light?
What model lamp have you got? picture? Modern copy lamps usually have a stop/tail bulb which is earthed through the body of the lamp. A single filament bulb with two terminals is the type that has the live and earth through the bulb.
So you have a repro fag end lamp.If the slots for the bayonet bulb are equal, then it won't have a brake light. The two wires will be pos and neg. Wire one to your headlamp switch (red) and the other to an earth point. Somewhere near the lamp is easiest.
If the slots are unequal then you could fit a stop/tail bulb if you can find one small enough, with the bulb earthing through the body of the lamp. Ron
I think that you might have trouble finding a twin filament bulb with equal prongs and small globe I have actually filed one of the prongs down to make something similar work. Unless you could check out these French bulbs.
I've done this too Ron. But most swapmeets I come across them because I guess there isn't many Peugeot restorers here snapping them up! BA15d should do the job.http://www.classicandvintagebulbs.com/page12.html
