It looks as though I might have a job locating some parts, so I will probably have to spend a few hours on the lathe (it's good to have an excuse).
So, does anyone know the dimensions of the following parts:
REAR Wheel spindle nut washer
REAR Wheel bearing spindle washer
FRONT Distance piece
FRONT Wheel bearing steel washer
Please don't take your bike to bits to find out, but if you have the wheels on the bench right now a few dimensions would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Ian, I have a complete front and rear wheel at my other garage, I could go down there and get measurements etc, but I'm not really sure what bits you want? Is it a couple of washers to fit under the spindle nut you want? If so, there are no washers under any of the wheel nuts on my bike.

Now that I have studied the parts list closely I can see that the dimension I really need is WIDTH (not the diameter) of the Front Distance Piece.
The washers in question are the ones that retain the felt washer, but I can calculate these dimensions from the cupped washer they pair up with.

Hello Ian.I have a 1940 16H in bits in the shed so I dug out the front wheel,drum ,etc and offered them back up to the forks.The spacer on the R/H side[non drum side]is 7/16" thick, 1" diameter,hole is 9/16" for the axle.Hope this helps.Sam.
Have you tried Russell motors? They had all these parts when I rebuilt my wheels. The cupped washer is just a bit of tin with a lip, that presses over the felt washer.
Spoke to Les this morning and he'd sold out of most of what I want other than a washer. But now that I have the dimensions I need, I can get the job sorted.
