Any (sensible) opinions welcome on the value of a very good set of M20 crankcases...Mid war (42), no damage apart from very slight wear on the mag platform..Original number stampings...
Original, brass, bore O/S plate screwed to the cases just below the engine number...A matched pair of (bare)cases ready to use...Ian
Hi Ian crankcases on their own fetch about £35 and bottom ends around £75 which is a bit daft as you'd pay that for a reasonable crank on its own so in effect it may be better to part it out if it's one of your own that you're selling especially if it has the oil pump, timing cover and cams with it.
(Somewhere) in storage I have a set of NOS BSA B or M series crankcases......they have no engine number of other stamps on them from memory.........can't remember if pre, wartime or post war though.......no use to me so if I dig 'em out in due course I will post some images on here....
Yours when I dig 'em out Ian......I just can't remember exact details but know I still have 'em..........problem for me atm is time, and having now retired I am far busier than I have ever been !! Plus, over the last week, damned arthritis has been playing up which has limited my physical ability to lift crates and boxes, despite my best intentions.......but I will persevere...! When I dig 'em out I will let you know, post to you, and we can sort something out thereafter.......they are no use to me....
