Henri, might be or not, there's something with the casting numbers, but I forgot where I read it?

Have the same part, with the same lable here, but a lot more grease on it!

What I do know, is that G3WO's did not have the drain plug, same as on early Nortons.

Nevertheless a very nice usable part!

I have the same tags on BSA parts that are dated 53 and 55.

That doesn't mean a thing Darren, they could be repacked at those dates, there were huge stocks left over from wartime production, so you can never rely on the tag alone.

Found that WWII brass bushing was replaced in inner cover by steel and is wider for fork carrying shaft. Casting numbers same 'xcept for that dimension. Tough to get all Cosmoline out of it unless dipped in boiling water
