Military FN for sale at Stafford

I don't know anything about these bikes. But it might interest someone out there looking to add to his or her collection. 450cc. Looks all there. Olive drab.

The estimate is £3,000 - 4,000 (€3,600 - 4,800).

Re: Military FN for sale at Stafford

I had a civvy one once, lovely comfortable ride, especially over rough ground, awkard to start because its one of those toe stubbers; clutch needs a complicated tool to dismantle it and the suspension rubbers are hard to find, at least they were when I had mine.

I liked it.

£900 I got for it

Re: Military FN for sale at Stafford

I've always fancied an F.N...(The Belgian BSA)...I have a particular fetish for the Tricar and the heavy military sidecar outfits built by them before the war..

I've had a close look over a few F.N.s and they seem to be a good quality machine...Spares availability (or lack of it) is what always stops me taking the plunge though...Ian.

Re: Military FN for sale at Stafford

my civvy one had miller electrics with coil ignition, worked well enough, Amal carb also.

I got bits from a British guy living in Liege, can't remember his name.

I see Bonhams haven't cottoned onto the the fact that the rear end is also under suspension.

Quite a good spec for the time consiering how many rigid/plunger bikes we had.

I liked mine, another one I wish I hadn't sold.
