Hi chaps I'm looking for some information on a triumph 3HW and what are thees like for parts etc?
The engine number is 3hw37493, and frame number tl53490 , and the number near seat post is stamped tec1244
It's one of the last contract of 3HW's supplied in 1944. The saddle tube is Triumph Engineering Co Dec 1944.
These last bikes where fitted with 7/8" bars and no steering damper.
Your engine is from an earlier contract in 43.
Thanks Ian-Ron, would thees later bikes have a 6 1/2" headlight and maybe a tank top filter as it has the tank cut away. I spoes getting a near complete bike is a bonus but are they worth while restoring. Barry
Yes Barry a 6" headlamp and a filter would be good. Absolutely it's worth restoring. You can now get reproduction mud guards chain guards etc from Ace Classics and Russell's still have quite a bit of stuff for them.
