It's a shame he's cropped the picture too much to see the C number, this is the bike that could possibly be mine, but unfortunately we can't see the last 2 digits of the number because the unit number has been put over the top. I have thought of trying to make the map holder.
I'm sure that the rider is Canadian. They were a law unto themselves. Similar holders used to be available through 'Old Bike mart'. Just the thing for VMCC runs if you can't keep in touch.
The ebay listing is saying they have the original and you have to contact them before you can you the picture. The fatc is there is no copyright on any of these WW2 photos now and nothing you can do to stop people using them.
I wouldn't like to argue that point in court it could get expensive.
Getty own a huge picture library, the old Hulton picture library , Illustrated London News and so on are just two libraries they bought.
Granted it's not necessarily a good thing. Especially with historic material.
However I run a website which uses a couple of Getty pics, they have not bothered me as its an academic non profit site.
How this guy would fare if they pick it up I don't know.
daft as by showing his source you could go to Getty images and get one kosher.
or if you are clever with photo editing you could simply clean the trade mark out. Or often a bit of clever cropping
