I'm restoring the tinware on my 1944 WM20 and having stripped my rear mudguard down to bare metal found the letter 'U' quite clearly and deliberately stamped in a seemingly pointless place on one of the underside bracing strips . Does'nt serve any apparent purpose , but I'm always intrigued about stuff like this . Just out of curiosity has anyone else ever found anything like this while restoring tinware? Probably means nothing atall , but one never knows . . .
When restoring my MGB-GT, I took off the rear light assembly, and found some initials there that had been put into the still-wet paint. Probably a worker in the paint shop as it was the original factory finish.
