The 16H has a really odd home-made looking steel footrest. We know that these bikes went to Australia via commercial channels in 1939. Is it definitely a Vokes or one of the Norton pre-production examples ?

You tell me Rik I think I remember that Norton's were fitting filters quite early on. The side brackets look a bit more basic than what we're used too. Ron

Well spotted, I have seen others without the brass plate, some times they have a serial number stamped on to the top surface.
