I'm hoping the experts might help me on a parts issue for my '43 M20. The tranny mainshaft has a bushing on it, and my post-war parts manual shows part #66-3155. Can somebody tell me if the WD's had a different part number/component and whom I might get it from? Many thanks from over here in the colonies..Bob
G'day Bob,
Not sure which colony you refer to but war model and post war boxes share the same part (sleeve gear bush) however the one single bush is now replaced by two shorter bushes. If your in Australia I might know who stock them.
This is the problem with our pass time being so global, the Americans think its funny when we say we are playing with hooters or that after five years of waiting, I've finally got the horn, but mention fiddling with your Tranny and it will have us Brits giggling like children. Anyway, I'm off to grease my nipples.
I thought my barbie was a tranny, and she'd get fatty with scoffing too many carbies, so I muffled her header. That upset her and she banged my fender with her shifter hugger, that really made my maggy sparkie.
Pass the tinny
Thanks to all for both the information and a good laugh! Only the Brits could make something as seemingly mundane as looking for a tranny part become a source of unending innuendo...! Back to the original question however,,, so is there a different part number for the WD era bushing? (we can cover the strap ons when I get to the pannier bags...) Bob
And Bill Green Motorcycles will have them in stock down here.
Just have a good look at them before you fit them because his eyes are going and some of the pattern parts he gets from India are , well a bit interesting,
Thanks Trevor! I'll keep Bill Greens info on hand for other mysterious part issues...Here in the States I've had good luck with Raber's Parts Mart in San Jose California. Bob O
