After I'd completely rebuilt the engine/gearbox/primary side on a bike a friend bought from Dean the Bean I promised myself I'd never have another bike from that part of the world in my workshop...
The expression 'totally f****d up' was being kind to it...Ian
Has anyone else noticed the prices of the Indian stuff has been creeping up recently on ebay? It used to be cheap and cheerful, give it a go and you haven't lost much, but I've been watching some repro 1950s kidney toolboxes for a Matchless and they have been going up and up until now, direct from Madras they are the same dubious quality, but getting on for almost twice the price they were a few months ago.
The Indians are getting far too cute for their own good...It's OK pegging your prices to the Western markets if you are offering reasonable quality....
We all know that isn't the case generally...
By selling crap at high prices they'll 'kill the goose that lays the golden egg' eventually and won't be able to sell anything..
Dean the Bean says he 'oversees production' out there when he is having parts made...If that is true I can only conclude he is a baker by trade...All his stuff is just as bad as the rest...Cor Blimey Charlie...Ian
