MCR2 regulator expert wanted - must be in the UK

I'm looking for expert advice on the MCR2 regulator. I think I understand exactly how it works in principle (and why it doesn't). But I'm trying to develop a simplified diagram/schematic and I really need an expert to straighten out the kinks in my thinking.

By that, I mean someone who understands the MCR2 in a non-technical and practical way. And that someone needs to be in the UK so that I can phone and chat.

So any takers, please? You can email me direct if you prefer.

And please don't anyone tell me to junk the MCR2 and fit a solid state regulator. I like the MCR2, and I like the idea of riding around with vintage equipment with all its failings.

And advantages.

Dump it and fit an original MCR1 then Danny. Just as mechanical and even more failings !

Do you have the 'Radco' book ? He's quite good on them.

Hi Rik, no I don't have that book, but I'll look out for it. Thanks for the tip. I assume you're talking about: The Vintage Motorcyclists' Workshop?

Danny, Yes, indeed. It had become very expensive but was republished last year. Well worth having.

I've had a few very nice responses to my enquiry (direct to my email). Just wanted to say thanks to all via the forum, and I'll respond invidually. Cheers.
