gear lever numbers

Hi Guys
I are struggling to find a gear lever for WM20-109711. There are some on evil bay but they don't look right and i have heard that some of the replica ones are not great. I notice on dragon fly there are 3 different part numbers ie 65-3171 65-3380 and 65-3417. Can some one tell me what the difference's are and are they interchangeable ? and can any one help with a gear lever?
Cheers
Phil

Re: gear lever numbers

Phil they are interchangeable but different lengths. The one you want is 65-3171

I think it's the longest one. Overall 7" if your asking questions on ebay. Ron

Re: gear lever numbers

Hi Phil, there are at least 3 different lengths and two 'styles'...You have the length from Ron so you know what you're after there....

Pre war levers differ from the WDM20 one in that the lever itself is positioned differently on the 'boss' that goes onto the gear change shaft...

On levers that pre date the '37 redesign, the lever itself lies 'in line' with the axis of the bike, or if you prefer, at 90 degrees to the 'boss'...
WD ones run at an angle across the 'boss', away from the axis of the bike towards the outer end. This was done to avoid the wider engine that resulted from the late '37 redesign of the M20...Ian
