Sorry about the picture orientation. I tried for more than an hour to rotate this diagram in photobucket and on the original scan.
I have the other bracket that goes with the 2 piece WNG speedo bracket set but need to make the bracket in the above picture. Would appreciate someone who has this bracket to please fill in the dimensions. Would like also like to know the angle of the breaks.
Hi Wade...I've been having a clearout over the Christmas period and came across some replica WNG speedo brackets...They've never been fitted to a bike.
If you pay the postage on them their yours 'gratis'...
I could photograph them and mail you a pic. sometime in the next few days to confirm they are correct...Ian
How generous of you, Ian. That is giving in the true sense of the Season :-)
I will PM you.
Thank you to the kind soul who turned the pictured. How did you do it? I have it oriented correctly on my desktop and in photobucket, yet every time I posted it on the forum, it was vertical instead of horizontal.
Steve I thought the uniform was very early , and didn't spot the lower sleeve badge , still cant see it even at 400% increase in magnification,!! Thanks for pointing out the change in type and position of speedo bracket, will check my numbers again and post But I thought the early rubber mounted bars also had the early speedo mount, mine has the fixed bars and late 1942 build date as far as I remember, Andrew. h.
There's a few images Andy showing the same ladies around this time on various Enfield's and G3's, some showing the upper sleeve insignia a lot more clearly.....
As for the early Ariel speedo bracket I think the changeover was around 1940-41, pretty early on and the parts lists would be a guide here (mine aren't accessible at present to check) but the rubber-mounted 'bars were still being fitted at Contract C11103 (early '42) - my own W/NG (XG24366) was built April '42 and rubber-mounted 'bars still fitted........though many of these were retro fitted with the later rigid-mounted 'bars and clamps.....
If you want the measurements for the speedo brackets, I can probably help. As Steve has mentioned, many bikes were retro fitted with the solid mounted handle bars, as was mine.
