BSA M20's down under.......... South Australia

Just wondering if there is anyone from Australia on the forum that could advise on what to pay for a complete and running BSA M20. I realise that this is a bit like asking the length of a piece of string but I have only been living out here for a few years (from the UK) and haven't seen many come up to get an idea of what to pay.....wished I bought one before I moved out here and also wish I hadnt sold my Matchless G2 to emigrate as riding thru the hills would have been great. A well known Victorian dealer has one for sale of just under $10K -looks ok in the photos and is supposed to be a runner. Just wanting to get an idea of a reasonable ball park figure. Cheers and thanks.

HI Taff I think 10K is way over the top but for total restoration with original war trim with correct markings and genuine parts it might be ok.
You can buy M20s in OZ for bit over half that in running condition if keep looking.

Heres an M20 in OZ for sale for $5500 its not a war model though. Type BSA into website you will find it.

Re: BSA M20's down under.......... South Australia

Hello Taff.I think ten thousand dollars is way over the top for a wm 20.They seem to go for about five and a half to six in good running order down here. The WM20 is by far the most common early BSA you see around and parts are everywhere. If you are up to restoring one yourself a complete non runner should go for about $3,500.Most bikes shipped out here during the war are numbered from 40000 to 79000,so be wary of higher numbers as they could be indian imports and you dont want to go down that path.Cheers,Sam.
