Today was 'one of those days'...After 4 hours on and off I managed to get the computer to run..Tomorrow it may not, and it turns out my 'repair guy' is on holiday...
Not to worry...I'll bleed the brakes on my Sportster in readiness for getting it back on the road..Well, no, actually...The back one would just not 'firm up' and I've yet to determine why...
Never mind...I had some parcels to pack for sending off...
The problem is as I went into my loft to get some packaging materials the loft ladder collapsed and down I went...Unfortunately I 'did' the same ankle which I injured quite badly a while back...Don't know if it's broken yet but that leg is entirely out of action at the moment and I'll see what tomorrow brings if there isn't any improvement...
Either way I don't think I'm going anywhere under my own steam for a few days...
Apologies to anyone who is waiting for parts...I'll try to get on it just as soon as I can...I've cancelled rest of the day....Ian
I know how you feel, I'm still limping badly from Stamford hall's 5 foot fall, I didn't break anything, but my back is still aching, I have no feeling in my left buttock and my toes are black and blue. I'm still having trouble pressing the clutch pedal on my car a week later. Lets hope it's not broken, there's nothing worse than being self employed and immobile!
Strap it up and work on chaps, Your self employed like me, there is no welfare state or any one to sue, LOL ,Seriously take care chaps get well soon, and don't go at it too early, Andrew .h
Ian sorry to here you have done your leg in re you computer would it maybe a fault from your service provider as you say one day its ok and another it isn't I have a problem would switch on then after a few minutes it would crash leave it for ten minutes it would work ok for the rest of the day this problem turned out to be a service provider fault to change the subject when you mentioned a sportster is it a Harley I was wondering what they are like to ride as thinking of buying one
When you exit from a hatch you are supposed to do a PLF, Parachute Landing Fall, thus rolling gracefully to a halt ready for action. You will have to work on this if you are going to hop out of a DC3 next year at Arnhem!!
Seriously though, having had my own ankle run over in Uganda several years ago, by an irate Ugandan, (long story), I fully appreciate you pain. Get well soon!
If you want any advice about Harley's, I've been specialising in them for over twenty years now, I specialise in the older stuff but have worked in dealerships and worked on the latest stuff too, feel free to ring e on 07770 876479, I don't sell them, but usually know where to find some at pretty good prices.
Bad News unfortunately...I got a call from the Hospital today and it seems my ankle is broken..That might explain why it's been so bloody painful for the last week......Anyway..next stop is a CT Scan and I don't know what they'll do after that...
So, I'm unsure at this point how long I'll be out of action with this one..
While I've been sat around I've thought up a design for a leg brace that would (should) enable me to walk around...Unfortunately I can't get up to the workshop to make it! ..
Saying that though, the other day a few mates came round after some spares and they got me up there in the wheelbarrow.. They really wanted those parts ....Ian
John Wayne liberated St Mare Eglise in a wheel barrow......He also had a funny walk. Just get them to put a cast on it and get back to the workshop. Ron
PS. I was going to ask if you had a gearbox main-shaft to clutch key....But I guess I'd better try somewhere else. Ron
Hi Henri..If only...Amazingly though they are produced in the UK...Seems the Brits can still make advanced weapons systems and wheelbarrows but not much in between ....Ian
