Today we visited the Canadian War Cemetery in Holten to show our respect for the ultimate sacrifice Don Fife and all the other WW2 allied soldiers gave for our freedom. This well taken care of cemetery also has a very interesting information centre with original uniforms, badges, movies etc.
The blue sky, the sunshine weather and the sound of Erik's BSA were bonusses we all hoped for.....
Thanks Hans for the effort you put in keeping this memory alive.
Well done Gentlemen, great effort.
I've had a few days of similar things, Monday I was at the Glider Assault Trust in the UK looking at their Gliders, Tiger Moth and Dakota, then on Tuesday I had a taxi ride in the Lancaster Just Jane, as my Family were in the RAF Bomber Command, very emotional getting very up close an personal, as one of the family was a Pilot I was lucky enough to be in the cockpit behind the Pilot of the day.
We also had diner at the Officers mess in Woodall Spa, home of 617..
