Nobody I would've thought, the sale had "best offer option" so who knows what it fetched & it didn't sell through eBay either as the sale is still live.

It'd be pretty much an impossibility that anyone with even a very limited knowledge of the market would pay this much for a military B40..they just don't command those sort of prices..You can still get a really good one for under £3000...Ian

Aside from M20 engines, B40's are used as doorstops down here in Oz too!

No doorstop for me.
I have a 1967 B40 that I ride when the M20 is of the road as it has been for about the last 2 years.
I should have the M20 up and running in a couple of weeks, just in time for the All British Rally.

I ran a military B40 for a few years...I swapped the wide ratio box for a standard one and replaced the 20" front wheel with a 19" to make it easier to obtain tyres.I also ran a Mk1 Concentric..It was a good bike and is still in my area...Ian
