Fastening the tap gives it a random position. I guess this was not accepted. My question is what was the position when the bikes left the factory? Who knows? Thanks in advance, Lammert de Vries
Period pictures of Nortons seem to show them installed in line with the bike. My feeling is that grappling for reserve is easiest if the hexagON is forward.
Well I do mine at right angles .
Out for on & in for off as I find it easier to reach under the tank with my thumb on the tap and push the slide out when I am riding & find I need reserve, quickly.
The main is fitted 180 deg so it also pushes out for on & in for off.
I use different thicknesses of fiber washers to index the taps.
I suspect that any rider would have adjusted them as he found comfortable, just as with the controls. Does the tyre inflator get in the way on the BSA ?
Everytime I take one off to stop it leaking it seems to end up pointing in a different and random direction, it had never occured to me there could be a correct way Rob
