Any recognize this glass, it is a Lucas and has number D714-3 on the bottom and the letters MIA, it is a bit domed/convex and fits about an 8 inch headlamp rim.
I think Hamish is right. I've got this exact same one on my 1937 AJS and the research I did when I restored the bike seemed to point to it being a headlamp glass for a large car, but I like the look of it and I didn't have the heart to change it when I restored the bike as it's probably been on there for 60 years?
DOMED. That is what I meant by "my lens is "deeper""
I also found in a used auto part shop, another lens,
looks in every way like the original "Lucas",
But has the word "Light" written exactly in the middle of the pattern, across it horizontally.
I was told it is probably from a car, but the guy could not tell which.
He has loads of stuff from old car parts shops that he bought when it went out of business.
I have a 8 inch reflector with the word Light in the middle which looks identical to a Lucas unit I have. The unit with the word Light has less vertical lines in it then the cats eye ones on sale and gives a more controlled light.
