It's time to do another batch of battery boxes...does anybody need one at the moment?...Also, I'm going to do some steering damper knobs...WM20 ones if there is any demand at the moment or if not I'll do the pre war 'BSA' marked ones...Let me know...I'm also looking at doing stainless gear indicator plates for the M20...Ian
Lex...If that is for Bastiaan Van Niel he has mailed me...Could you clarify?
Darren...Assuming there hasn't been an increase the boxes are £26 each.
Stuart...I do 1940 and 1944 dated boxes.
Julian...see above....Ian
Not really Lex..Another date will require another change part for the mold. Also, I have already found that by having two dates I frequently don't have the right ones when I come towards the end of a batch, whereas when there was only one date they just sold....Adding yet another date would just make the problem of stock (and production) worse, 'splitting' a batch over more dates with more changes to the tooling set up during production.... ...Ian
On the other hand Ian, I only own one WD bike but I've already bought two different battery boxes from you and would happily buy a third if there was a 1939 option...If all your customers were as good as Lex and I, you'd have it made !
It's really high time that someone found an original WD Ni-Fe to use as a pattern !
...I do of course remain extremely grateful for your having made the '40 boxes...
I would like to have 2 battery boxes. I have a 1941 BSA WM20 and a 1941 Matchless G3L, but I really do not know what boxes were supposed to be on those bikes. I guess the 1940 boxes will do. Please let me know if this is not the case and I need another model.

Hi Ramon..I work along the lines that after a bike had been used for a few years it would have had a new battery fitted...So I would use a 44 one on your 41 bikes. This is what I have done on my 41 M20.
Of course another possibility is that when new, your bike might have had a battery that was manufactured in 1940 fitted, just drawn from storage for use in 41.
I guess you can fit either on that basis...it just depends which story you think the most likely!....Ian (let me know what you decide on)
Hi Ian
You should already have me down for a damper knob from previous emails - my bike is 1942 but I dont mind which knob if you only get the early ones made. I'll also take a late battery box please.

Hi Darren...Battery boxes are either 40 or 44 dated..price £26. Damper knobs are also £26. The gear indicator plate is still in developement (the original was a pressing) and until the best method of replication is determined, proven and priced I can't give you a figure....I have machined a protoype from solid and that will probably be the way to go for small quantities due to the price of making press and blanking tools..However, there are a number of operations involved for each plate..I'll post once I have more info on that....Ian
Hi Ian
Didnt mean to confuse - I want 1 1942 Damper knob and 1 1944 battery box. If you are only making one type of damper knob i'll take whatever you make.

Hi All..Thanks for your orders...Manufacture of the boxes and knobs is now underway with completion at the end of Feb...I'll post again when available.
Once these, and some other jobs, are through the system I'll be doing another batch of pre war/wartime Triumph damper knobs if anyone is looking for one of those...Ian
