After 10 weeks sitting in the garage I decided to see which would be the best starter out of my 1955 Norton model19R and BSA WM20 with a 1956 B31 engine fitted.
The Norton is usually a good starter, but coughed and farted, needed about 20 kicks before it ran.
The BSA is also a reliable starter, but I was surprised when on the first kick the engine popped and carried on running. Within seconds it settled down to a lovely tick over with no smoke from the exaust.
For the first time since I snapped my achilles tendon my hands smell of my bikes and petrol from tickling the carbs.
