Whilst lacing the rear wheel I've discovered there seems to be a right side and left side - and two different spoke lengths.

Can anyone shed any light on the 'correct' side? One side is definitely offset more then the other, and the spokes have around a quarter inch length difference.

The front wheel was easy - a little more obvious!!

This question has come up a number of times without a clear answer. I believe the centerline of the rim is 8mm - 9mm to the left of the centerline of the cotton reel hub. I submitted the sketch below a while back but have not had any confirmation that it is correct.
