1940, 330cc OHV, probably the only surviving original WB30 from a batch of 50 machines submitted to the ministry for evaluation in 1940, fully restored to as new condition,
Hi John..Where did you see the advert?...There are 3 or 4 examples of bikes from the pre production batch of WB30s but I only know of one that has been restored as described. Odd that he says it's a 330cc bike when it's a 350...Any chance of a picture...?. I see it's in the Rochdale area...Ian
Hi Andrew..Thanks...Yes they will fetch that much..There are less than 10 known examples after all (of all versions) so it is genuinely rare. This one was restored by Ron Pier for the then owner a few years back. Fairly original but not 100%, the back end set up is all wrong for an early example and it has a B29 oiltank. Though in fairness to Ron he had to use what he was given for the restoration. I won't mention the post war oil code Ron...Doh!......Ian
Andrew I wont be buying it back. As it happens, the current owner of Ian's restored WB30 is thinking of housing it in my museum...before he wrecks it!!
