Please share your wisdom.
My bike has a metal plate about 3 inches in length and 3/4 inches in width on the rear fender behind the number plate bracket.
It said Chasis Contract No. S 7218 , 294/23/ S 7128 and Catalogue Ref. No. which is unreadable.
The Chasis Contract No. means anything?
The bike's frame number is WM20 63611.
Engine number is WM20 47904.
Does it make 1942 model frame and engine may be older model?
WM20 63611 was part of contract C12424 and would have had the serial C4699708
In the late 40s and early 50s most M20s still in British Army service were rebuilt and all the components were swapped from one bike to another, this was probably when this Frame, Engine and rear Mudguard came together.
Thank you for sharing the knowledge.
Yes the Frame, Engine and rear Mudguard chasis contract number comes from different bikes.
The frame number matched with 1942.
I cannot find when the engine no. WM20 47904 was made ?
And the rear Mudguard chasis contract number S 7218 , 294/23/ S 7128 comes from which period ?
Thanks a lot.
