Hi Maarten...Brave man.. ..but that won't be neccessary. The new owners of the campsite speak very little English and my French only works for buying cakes and petrol.. ...Next year we have to finalise the arrangements for 2014 at Etreham and confirm that everything is as we want and acceptable to the owners..To that end..if you don't mind..I hereby promote you to the rank of Liason Officer (with an extra 1 shilling and fourpence per week.).. ...Ian

I am fluent in French with everything that is important. I.e. I have no problems ordering beer or petrol! :-)

I've never found a need for anything after that. I mean - it's France innit.

I don't need to ride pillion behind anyone to do it either.

Ian, just speak SLOWLY and LOUDLY, they'll understand you! Failing that I have a English/American book of phrases and pictures (to point at) for the invading forces, it worked in 1944, it may still work.
