Hi Chris..5/16" whitworth is the thread..I can't remember the length but I usually cut longer ones down, to get as much thread in use as possible..1"-1 1/4" long bolts will do as a starting point. I think the originals had a reduced head if I remember correctly but standard bolts will fit.
Use full thickness washers under the bolts to avoid distorting the inner case.
The heads of the bolts should also be cross drilled and after tightening, wired together...Ian
