Re: carbine clip

The yanks would call a carbine clip a magazine for the M1 Carbine, holds 8 rounds.

Suspect you mean the rifle clips, fitted to jeeps etc. early Norton Big 4's had them on the sidecar.

Solo bikes never fitted them.

A picture would help a lot here!

Re: carbine clip

Hi Guys,

The M-1 Carbine magazine holds 15 rounds.
The M-1 Garand Clip holds 8 rouns of 30-06

We use magazine like you Brits do as in a SMLE.
A clip holds rounds outside of a magazine.
Otherwise known as a stripper, or stripper clip as you strip them off
to fit inside a magazine. Save the M-1 Garand that is.

Rick, I have just sold my carbine to Jesse. You could give him the mag.

Re: carbine clip

I have no idea how these rifles were fixed to the bike, this photo gives a better view but still doesn't show much.

Re: carbine clip

if you magnify the image there is a U shape clip by the saddle spring and one under the small pack(pannier bag) towards the rear of it and it looks like the bolt for loading the bullets will stop it falling out the back as you accelerate away just to add you would'nt be able to do this with pannier frames fitted

Re: carbine clip

Hi Rick, how do you know the clip you've bought is for fixing a rifle?

I also see the rifle is mounted differently from the 1st picture.

Re: carbine clip

Perhaps they learnt that having the open barrel forward helped with the ingress of water & dirt.....
