No intention to embarrass, its just a common mistake to verbally ad the "D" but its better to start out spot on. Looks a 42 maybe 41 but the guys will know more accurately than me.
thanks henk for taking the time to find my frame number in the factory ledgers, with my frame number being wm20 59332 i`ve calculated the c number to be c4663040 could someone please double check it for me please as i`d hate to find that number in a photo and then discover i was wrong.has anyone found their bike in a wartime photo, like the story on the key cards would henk be able to tell us how he came by the factory ledgers, cheers dave
Contract C11101 has 2 blocks of serials and 2 blocks of frame number, and the gaps are in different places, so in order to make a calculation you need to break the contract into 3 parts.
This is the point that the keycards show there true value because without them this would all be guesswork.
The keycards show the following machines to still be in service with matching frame numbers and serials corresponding to the above table in the late 1940s
part 1 140 machines
part 2 47 machines
part 3 37 machines
So thats why I'm pretty sure wm20 59332 = C4663075
Yes you are right, I have simplified these contracts in the list I have in a way that mistakes sneak in. I made that list years ago and I shouldn't use that list anymore.
