Hello All,
I just did some maintenance on my clutch & gearbox.
I removed the gearbox and emptied all the oil out, but now I cannot get more than about half the oil it. What caused this? Should I just remove the inspection cover and add it there?

Hi Rick...The M20 manuals give a capacity of 1 pint for the box but I find they won't take much more than 3/4 of a pint. The filler neck is in the main case of the box and fills directly into the area around the gear cluster...I can't think of a way that filler could be obstructed..
You may find that if you kick the bike over a few times to help distribute the oil around the box you will get some more in. Just keep filling until the oil is continuously visible in the filler spout neck....Ian

Yeah, it took about 3/4 of a pint. Seems like when I took it apart it took forever to get all the oil to drain out of it, so its good to know that there is nothing that could block it`s capasity.
