Just need some advise on how the best way to run my m20 in.
I have just rebuilt the engine and had it rebored its all nack together and raring to go. But I dont want to mess it up by racing down the road, can anyone help me?
The first 100 miles are reasonably critical, the road speed is pretty irrelevant, more a case of load upon the engine, just don't rev it too hard or more importantly, don't labour it. There is only the piston and bore to run in, the big end is usually not that critical when it comes to running in the engine as it is a roller big end
One of the most important things to remember about running in is to keep to the back roads and watch out for other road users as they won't think 'he's running his old bike in, we'll be patient'. They will just barge passed, blowing their hooter and waving, whilst not using all their fingers.
