Sorry this is off topic, but I thought a lot of you might like to look at these great photos of a biking holiday in 1953.
I like the way the bikes were loaded onto a plane.!
The info says;
In the Summer of 1953 my father Geoffrey Gander and his friends set off on their annual Motor Cycling holiday around Europe.
They took a Brough Superior SS100, Triumph Thunderbird, Triumph T100 and a couple of Sunbeams.
Wonderful photos, what an adventure! The Brough is especially nice and it's good to see that the number plate is still listed on a registration checker website as belonging to a Brough Superior M/C Combination
Somewhere I have a photo of my Grandfathers Austin being lifted aboard a ship using a crane and a large net for a cross channel sailing in the 30's...I think the 'few' cars on each crossing were just lowered into the hold...Ian
