Hi All
Am struggling to get the perfect balance in the clutch. When I kick it over the clutch seems to slip and the engine doesnt turn, yet once it ( FINALLY) grips enough and the engine roars into life, there is not enough movement in the clutch to be able to select gears.. so what is it that I am doing wrong??.. Have washed and cleaned the plates... new springs and re set the actuating arm on top the gearbox numerous times... no improvement... ( is a 6 spring clutch on a 1950 M20 plunger)... any advice/comments/ideas would be greatly received..
thanks in advance to those that know and can help
Dave
Hi Dave,
Do you have enough slack on the clutch cable?
If you try to start with no cable at all, does it catch and engine move?
In order to start it meanwhile, you can start with the exhaust valve lifter pushed, in order to have less resistance,
And release the lever when the kick starter is half way down.
