At long-last, I've pulled my M20 apart in readiness for 2012's warmer weather. So far it's all apart and the frame, along with a couple of other bits, have been blasted and are in primer. Pic below.
Thanks to everyone who answered my post re fork bushes and after cleaning off all the grease, the top links have had a tougher time than the bronze bits and will need sorting too. When using the M16 tap method of removal, is a bit of heat recommended or is it just a case choosing the bigger hammer?
I used a tap in the top bushes, its just a matter of threading it in, then tapping out from the opposite side with a long enough drift (preferably brass). Didn't take too much to do it , you shouldn't need heat but may help loosen off any old grease, etc. I actually tapped the bush with a UNF tap, then threaded a bolt in to tap against. Didn't want to rick damaging the tap, didn't know how hard I would have to hammer..
