Brilliant!..That was our trip down to Hillman Bunker ..where we met up with the rest of the goup...and then on to Pegasus Bridge. There were about 85 bikes on the run down to Hillman and 125 plus at Pegasus.
I still get an incredible 'buzz' watching film of '65 for 65'..it was an amazing experience.
Roll on the 70th. anniversary in 2014...and 200 bikes...Ian
Great to see and hear! And how can I download that file?
Hans you can download these movies with http://www.zamzar.com I have used it many time already and it works very well.
You need to click on the movie then click the link to go to youtube bottom right. Then you copy the link address and past this in zamzar download a movie. I always convert these youtube movies to .avi
You can directly download it here with the download link I just created, it's only available for one day.
No Normandy trip next year for me either..I'll be there again in 2013 doing some of the preparations for the 70th the following year...
I should make 2012 the year I finally make it to Arnhem..but have no firm plans as yet.. ..I might take the Harley Ferguson to mid/southern France for some sunshine.. ...Ian
Looks good to me and I can't wait either, especially as I've yet to take the M20 overseas. Hopefully I'll stop trying to change gear with the brake pedal by then...
That's a great idea John...65 for 65 wasn't properly recorded due to the fact that the equipment and knowledge weren't readily available and 'getting the show on the road' pretty much took up all the time. All of the footage and photos, apart from the Guiness run itself, exist only through the efforts of individual riders.
Hopefully on the 70th. a few more people will become involved in organising the different aspects of the event and the recording of it is a key part...
Apart from anything else you might do with the film you will have no trouble selling CDs to the participants..I think everyone would have liked one last time.
I'd like to discuss this in more detail with you when we get nearer to the time...Ian
For sure it was something special this 65 for 65, roll on the 70 for ...
