AMAL 276

It seems that Burlen has discontinued the 276 series carbs; true?

Re: AMAL 276

They are still listed on the Amal website, and they haven't long announced repair kits for them.
Where is the suggestion that they are stopping them?

Re: AMAL 276

surrey cycles do amal parts and new carburetters

Re: AMAL 276

They had them on the stand at Beaulieu and although when I asked if there was a possibility of making the 'non-R' suffix type of body and jet block for Nortons, they said "probably not", there was no suggestion that the range was going to be discontinued.

Wouldn't it just make sense to ask them ?

Re: AMAL 276

I spent some time at Burlen Fuels recently. They are still making a range of 276 carbs. Although they have no plans yet for 274 or 275 or the long neck carbs as fitted to Enfields and SV Triumphs. But they are in the process of making an adaptor to fit a standard 276 for the long neck application.
Any parts that Surrey Cycles sell will probably come from Burlen anyway.

Re: AMAL 276

There has been a suggestion on other forums that Burlen have the Concentric stuff made in China.

Do they bring in castings and finish and assemble here? Does that apply to the 276s as well ?

Re: AMAL 276

I don't know where the casting are made Rik. But I think that you are correct that they do the finishing themselves. Ron
