I wonder where he ended up ? 42nd Infantry Division had seen brief service with the BEF in 1940 and converted to 42nd Armoured Division in November 1941 but they in turn were disbanded in the UK in October 1943 without seeing overseas service. Presumably the component parts were used to reinforce other units.

C4317841 as part of contract C6653 was from the pannier toolbox contract and his bike was probably W19565.

I'm a bit puzzled by the mention of the bike coming from 7th Div. 7th Armoured were in North Africa until September 1943 and 7th Infantry Div was disbanded in Palestine in 1939.
