went out today when i got back the engine had a fast tickover i retarded the ignition which usualy would slow the tick over down and could stop the engine if retarded to much this didnt happen after the run today it didnt do anything even though the points carrier does move checked to see if the throttle slide was sticking it didnt seem to be sticking

Hi Roger..you might have an airleak somewhere...that speeds up the tickover..Ian
