Nice line up of BSAs outside the Mortlock premises in Perth, W.Australia. Interesting that BSA supplied the Australian Government through one of their dealers and not directly. I wonder if a lorry load of Aussie DRs were about to turn up and ride them all away?
What is also surprising is that from the advertising painted on the shop front they were also Calthorpe dealers.
Calthorpe were a small company who experienced severe financial problems in the 30s depression and all their products in the UK were sold through one outlet, Pride and Clarke in London. I didn't realise they were still exporting.
Mortlocks carried on into the 70s when they were bought out by a Chinese businessman...a sign of things to come?....Ian
